The new Gateway Lighting Scheme at London's Heathrow airport was designed by Speirs and Major Associates.

The road gateway to Heathrow now sports a sea of LED lights with soothing ripples of colour.

The installation is controlled by a number of Artistic Licence LVD or Low Voltage Dimmer products. These rack mounted systems provide forty eight channels of dimming at twenty four volts.

The dimming system uses the Bit Angle Modulation technique, invented by Artistic Licence. BAM provides numerous advantages compared to the older technique of pulse width modulation.

BAM received the PLASA award for Excellence and has been published to the public domain in order to ensure it remains free from patents and available for all to use.
