Grand Place - BrusselsArtistic Licence Integration web site.
Grand Place, Brussels, is a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its architecture. A collaboration between the city of Brussels and the federal program Beliris sought to enhance the stunning facades and general ambience of the square with energy-efficient LED lighting.
The agency of Light Sculptor, Patrick Rimoux, provided the design concept, with the offical inauguration taking place in November 2013.
Fixture provider, Urbis Schreder, brought in Artistic Licence to provide a versatile central control system for the dynamic RGB lighting programmes and to manage the data distribution.
The large scale and complexity of the project required a 20-Universe Colour-Tramp controller to provide individual control of the intensity and colour of some 1600 lamps.
The interactive user interface was provided by Finger-Trouble.
