DMX Protect Extreme

DMX Protect Extreme is a passive, in-line protection device for DMX512 networks that safeguards connected lighting equipment against accidental over-voltage faults and high-energy transient events, including lightning.

Once connected, it continuously protects the network against sustained DC faults of up to 80 VDC, accidental connection to mains supplies of up to 425 VAC, and high-energy faults such as lightning-induced surges.

Following the the removal of an over-voltage fault, the device automatically returns to its normal monitoring state without operator intervention. Under normal fault conditions no replacement is required.

For exceptionally high-energy surge events, DMX Protect Extreme provides reliable sacrificial protection with clear and unambiguous end-of-life indication using a standard cable tester. The protection module can then be economically replaced rather than requiring the complete product to be discarded, extending service life and reducing waste.

The device does not require external power and is installed directly in the DMX signal path, just like any other luminaire or DMX device

Both the input and output have protection circuitry so products connected to the input are protected from faults on the output and vice versa.
