versaSplit mini

versaSplit mini is a modular mains powered DMX512 and RDM distribution system.

The input modules are available in 5 variations that determine the product function(s):

1. Choose the XLR5 or XLR8 (Ethercon) input module(s) for a DMX512 splitter / fixer with RDM support.

2. Choose the ETHB input module for a gateway capable of handling Art-Net (all versions up to Art-Net 4) and sACN.

3. Choose the CRMX input module for a wireless DMX splitter.

4. Choose the blank panel that can be used to blank off one of the inputs.

Please note, modules need to be purchased separately.

Output connectors are XLR5. All outputs are ground referenced using robust drivers with advanced protection.

Modules

The versaSplit DMX/RDM input module adds DMX input capability to the entire versaSplit range. It provides an isolated input and loop-through using 3-pin or 5-pin XLR connectors, or via an RJ45 Ethercon connector, depending on the chosen variant. The module also provides a split – fix switch which allows out-of-spec timing to be corrected and unusual DMX packets or RDM to be removed.

The versaSplit CRMX input module adds wireless DMX input capability to the entire versaSplit range. RDM is not currently supported. It is supplied complete with an antenna and fully supports the Lumen Radio CRMX wireless DMX protocol.

The versaSplit Ethernet B input module adds Art-Net 4 and sACN input capability to the entire versaSplit range.

Data input is via a Neutrik Ethercon. All network configuration can be done via a browser or using DMX-Workshop.

The blank panel can be used to blank off one of the inputs.

Operation

The module also provides a split – fix switch which allows out-of-spec timing to be corrected and unusual DMX packets or RDM to be removed. In Fix Mode, the product discards all RDM and other specialist data packets. It also adjusts the DMX timing to values that are likely to be acceptable to fixtures that do not fully comply with the DMX standard. The list below shows the fix mode features.

• Accepts and corrects break in range 56 µs – 1000 µs and outputs 250 µs

• Accepts and corrects MaB in range 5 µs – 1000 µs and outputs 30 µs

• Accepts and corrects MbB in range 0 µs – 1000 µs and outputs 30 µs

• Accepts channel count 1 – 512 and outputs 512

• Accepts refresh period from 23 ms – 1000 ms and outputs 30ms

• Filters out multiple consecutive breaks

• Re-times bytes of 1 stop bit to 2 stop bits

• Filters out all non-zero start code packets

• Re-times digital signal
